It has been proven – proven – that Donald Trump has lied or misled the American people over 20,000 times as reported by the Washington Post.

This has been repeated, at first reluctantly, then emphatically, by Republican leaders again and again.
At first, although some Republican leaders called Trump xenophobic, racist, a liar, many now have changed their tune. (Lindsay Graham, 2015, then 2018).

Why? Why do people cave? Why do people give up?

Because there is a relief in compliance. In giving up and collaborating. In a recent issue of The Atlantic, Anne Applebaum quotes the poet Czeslaw Milosz in his book, “The Captive Mind,” which describes how collaboration provides a relief. Finally, there is a no more struggle with one’s ideals. There is a decision wherein one can relax and stop questioning…

Yet perhaps bigger than this cheerful collaboration is the normalizing of Trump’s behavior: we have become numb and used to his psychosis and sociopathy. It just seems too big to address. It leaves us too incredulous.

On Monday evening police in riot gear disbanded a peaceful protest close to the White House with force and tear gas. Yet this protest is a guaranteed right in the Constitution. And this happened so that Trump could stage a photo op with a Bible.
Ted Cruz, who used to call Trump “utterly amoral and a pathological liar” changed his tune and said this protest was “within the law,” a gross and ridiculous lie.
During the inauguration Trump insisted that the crowds at his event were larger than ever in history even though the actual event said otherwise. He had photos doctored and distributed by the Parks Services.

This is the kind of propaganda used by the Soviet Union to promote a falsehood, and as Anne Applebaum says in the Atlantic:

“sometimes the point isn’t to make people believe a lie – it’s to make people fear the liar.”

TRUMP COUNTS ON YOUR APATHY. HE COUNTS ON YOUR FEAR. HE COUNTS ON YOUR LOOKING THE OTHER WAY.

MAKE NO MISTAKE. TRUMP IS A MALIGNANT NARCISSIST. HE IS GETTING WORSE.

What will you do? Will you continue to read only social media blab? Will you continue to get information from people as lost as you are?


I have listened to well-intentioned people who only get their information from social media and who are not understanding that the protests BLACK LIVES MATTER is about George Floyd’s brutal murder at the knee of a white police officer.

I have listened to entitled young white people whine about their own issues on the back of the real issue: we have enslaved black people since we supposedly liberated them 100 years ago.

And if lazy millennials and other entitled people refuse to educate themselves historically, Trump wins. He is counting on it.
GET YOUR NOSES OUT OF YOUR PHONES AND READ. VOTE. PRAY. VOLUNTEER. VOLUNTEER. AND VOLUNTEER.
